PRP (platelets) injections, are they effective? Do they REALLY work?
by Fisherman insince health insurance doesn’t pay for prp injections, i am skeptical about it’s efficacy.
obviously if this treatment was necessary, it would be paid by health insurance.
don’t know much about prp except that the physician extracts blood from the patient and concentrates the platelets from the blood then injects the medicine into the affected site in the body to speed up healing of a torn ligament for example.. i saw an interesting statement in wt online site saying or implying that sub major components might be a personal decision and also using one’s own blood may be a personal decision, if i understood the information correctly..

Elder asks my disfellowshipped cousin to leave house while grieving for his grandmother
by RULES & REGULATIONS infourteen years ago i started a thread on how horrible my disfellowshipped cousin was treated after his mom passed away and the terrible actions on the part of the elders at the funeral home.. 67. horrible conduct by congregation elders at my cousin's funeral.............. well, here we are 14 years later, and things haven't changed!.
my aunt ( who is my disfellowshipped cousin's grandmother ) was placed in home hospice care.
the nurse told her daughters ( who are jehovah's witnesses and live with their mother ) that their mom probably has 2 days left to live and that they should call the immediate family.. my disfellowshipped cousin and his sister show up in the early morning.

Ive witnessed simliar disgusting behaviour of elders overstepping personal boundaries regarding funerals.
No one has any business defining the relationship you had with the deceased. Its between you and them.

Removing verses form the NWT
by Phizzy inthe jw org has removed certain verses from their nwt version, claiming usually that what is removed is not found in the oldest mss, that claim is fair enough, until you ask a simple question, this :.
" if you are going to remove interpolations from the bible, where do you stop?"..
the org.

Gods holy, sacred book, apparently dictated to faithful servants. As the WT says:
Most Bible writers acknowledged that they wrote in the name of Jehovah, the one true God, and that they were guided by him. Prophets who wrote the Hebrew Scriptures proclaimed more than 300 times: “This is what Jehovah has said.” (Amos 1:3; Micah 2:3; Nahum 1:12) Other writers received God’s message through angels.—Zechariah 1:7, 9.
The Bible was written by some 40 men over the course of 1,600 years. Some men were used to write more than one book of the Bible. In fact, the Bible is a miniature library of 66 books. It consists of the 39 books of the Hebrew Scriptures, called by many the Old Testament, and the 27 books of the Christian Greek Scriptures, often called the New Testament.
If it is so trustworthy, why does the WT feel the need to change anything?

Does becoming (or remaining) one of Jehovah's Witnesses result in Poverty? Pew Research results differ from Watchtower claims.
by Balaamsass2 in"raised in the truth" during the 50s, 60s,and 70s i repeatedly read and heard from the platform how reading the magazines weekly "was the equivalent of a college education" and how many had turned their family economic situation around by being "trustworthy" and giving up expensive bad habits most "worldly people" had.
sounded good.. what is the reality?
how does avoiding higher education, and then spending up to 20 hours a week getting ready for, commuting, and then participating in meetings and field service affect family finances?.

I remember a visiting elders talk one Sunday, he was talking about the dangers of higher education and putting people off going to university. Yet, he was a university educated architect.
I really resented his talk because I had woken up by then and was severely regretting the choices made for me by my parents concerning my own education.
I don't know how he could look young people in the eye and actively derail their futures.

Answering JW Conversation Stoppers
by Vanderhoven7 injws often try to justify their religion as being the only true religion.
questions like.
which other organization is doing this or that?

JW's expect people at the doors to challenge everything they have ever learned and believe in, based on a discussion at the door using jw literature. They expect people to turn their backs on everything they hold dear.
Yet, they are not willing to answer the most reasonable and justified questions about their own faith, and will shun you for doubting.

I dont believe we studied it.
I remember thinking some JW's might find other religions interesting if they studied the book.

Do Masks really help in preventing respiratory infections? Recent study reviewed
by Reasonfirst inin the recent coronavirus scare, masks were promoted as one way to minimise possible infection.
a study, reviewed yesterday by an english medical commentator, dr john campbell, says, no!.
watch what he has to say on this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3vy2lyqn1a.. the study he reviews can be found at: https://www.cochranelibrary.com/cdsr/doi/10.1002/14651858.cd006207.pub6/full.

Dr John Campbell- Doctor of Philosophy, not medicine.
If you take a look at this study, there are some serious criticisms of it.
I never believed masks were perfect but I wore them during the pandemic anyway. If they help - even a little, then whats the problem with wearing them? At the very least, if they are wearing one, it should prevent someone spitting all over you as they talk.
My experience with people that dont like masks is that its more about the fact they dont like being told what to do, not about science.

The largest modern, wooden ship, the Wyoming, built in 1909, was 450 feet long - about 50-60 feet shorter than the ark.
The length caused it to flex and buckle in heavier seas and had to be constanly pumped with steam pumps to stop it from sinking, although it had metal bracing for support.
Also, no one seems to know with any certainty what gopher wood was.
